About UnixTime
A free, simple Unix timestamp converter built as an independent OTHRYS utility.
What UnixTime does
UnixTime shows the current Unix clock and converts timestamps to readable dates or dates back to Unix seconds. It supports seconds, milliseconds, microseconds and nanoseconds. The tool runs entirely in your browser, without accounts or a backend conversion service.
How dates are calculated
Unix time counts seconds relative to 1 January 1970 at midnight UTC, excluding leap seconds. Negative values are valid for earlier instants. We use integer arithmetic to preserve fractional units in numeric inputs, and JavaScript Date for readable dates, which have millisecond precision. Time zone formatting uses the browser's available IANA data. For DST transition and critical systems, verify the result against your own environment.
